1 Injured In Freehold Borough House Fire: Cops

A residential fire on Vought Avenue Tuesday morning resulted in the hospitalization of one victim, authorities said.

FREEHOLD, NJ - A Freehold Borough residence caught fire Tuesday morning, leaving one victim injured, authorities said.

At approximately 9:33 a.m., Monmouth County Sheriff's Office received a 9-1-1 call reporting a house fire at 15 Vought Avenue in Freehold Borough with individuals still inside.

The Freehold Borough Police Department and the Freehold Fire Department responded to the acne,e initiating rescue operations and locating one victim was located inside. The individual was transported to an area hospital for treatment with non-life-threatening injuries.

The fire resulted in a burnt hole through the roof and multiple shattered windows before it was placed under control at around 10:16 a.m., the Asbury Park Press reported.

The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by the Freehold Borough Police Department and Monmouth County Fire Marshal's Office.
