All Freehold Boro Officers Now Equipped With Body Cameras: PD

FREEHOLD, NJ - Starting this week, all officers in Freehold Borough will be sporting body cameras, according to a statement from Freehold Borough Police Chief Craig Dispenza.
“In an effort to continue delivering superior public service, The Freehold Boro Police Department is proud to announce that as of March 22nd 2021, all of our officers are now equipped with body worn cameras,” Dispenza wrote in a statement Tuesday. “This was made possible with the support of our Mayor and town council.”
According to the post, Freehold Boro police officers have received training on how to use the cameras. They are also briefed on the Attorney General guidelines that govern the use of body worn cameras in the state.

“The implementation of the cameras will allow our officers to further document police incidents, and interactions, as well as obtain evidence during criminal investigations. Furthermore, the use of the camera will be utilized for training and debriefing after certain incidents,” Dispenza wrote.
“The Freehold Boro Police Department is committed to delivering superior service to our community, and this extra level of transparency will only help us in this mission.”
