
The Board of Parks and Recreation Commission is pleased to announce that girls’ softball will now fall under the umbrella of programs offered by Freehold Township Little League. This changeover will provide participants with increased opportunities for interleague play and post season all star competition. Freehold Township Little League will join seven surrounding towns in their mission to provide quality girls’ softball for 7 to 16-year-olds.
Efforts are underway between the Recreation Department and Freehold Township Little League to ensure a smooth transition. Registration will continue for the spring 2013 program through the Recreation Department. The fee will remain at $ 75.00 for residents of Freehold Township and Freehold Boro. Those wishing to register for the program are encouraged to enroll as quickly as possible so that Little League can provide the best experience for all interested girls.
The Freehold Township Little League Executive Board will be hosting their annual public meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 27 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Senior Center on Jackson Mills Road. Specifics of the girls’ program will be discussed at this time. All are invited to attend this forum.
