Anti-Vaxers Protest ‘Segregation’ Outside Springsteen On Broadway
Protesters demonstrated outside the NYC theater on Saturday, questioning the fairness of the theater's proof of vaccination policy.

FREEHOLD, NJ - Dozens of demonstrators stood outside the St. James Theater in New York City on Saturday night speaking out against the venue's COVID-19 policy for “Springsteen On Broadway,” which requires attendees to show proof of vaccination against the coronavirus.
Signs reading "We demand Equal Rights” and "My Body My Choice” were waved in front of the venue on opening night of the show starring New Jersey rocker Bruce Springsteen. Other banners read “Bruce Springsteen is for segregation on Broadway," Fox News reported.
Police stepped in to break up the demonstration after some individuals began yelling sentiments of Nazi Germany, Theatrely reported.

Attendees over the age of 16 must show proof of vaccination at the Broadway venue, save for "those who need reasonable accommodations due to a disability or sincerely held religious belief,” according to the theater company website. Those who apply to the exception must wear masks at all times except when eating or drinking.
Unvaccinated individuals must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test, a negative antigen test within six hours of the performance start time or a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of the show. Vaccinated attendees do not have to wear a mask.

“Springsteen On Broadway” runs through September and is based on the rocker’s autobiography Born To Run. Following its initial 2017-18 Broadway run, the show was adapted into a film.
According to Theatrely, Springsteen’s show was the first to reopen in the theater district amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Springsteen is just the latest entertainer to have his performance heckled by anti-vax protesters. Scores of demonstrators protested outside a Foo Fighters concert in California, with the venue reportedly requiring only fully-vaccinated individuals in attendance.
"Separating humans is not OK," one protester said, per The Los Angeles Times. "Those of us who have healthy immune systems should be able to enjoy these freedoms just like anybody else."
