Daylight Saving: Change Clocks, Change Batteries, Fire Officials Urge

It's time to fall back, Freehold residents. Fire safety officials remind you to change batteries in your detectors, too.

Enjoy your Halloween just a little bit longer because Sunday it’s time for the clocks to go back.

But while you’re waiting for trick-or-treaters or preparing for a Halloween party, fire officials are urging Freehold residents to remember to change the batteries in their smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, too.

Changing them yearly when we change the clocks -- and testing them monthly -- is an easy way to make sure they are working properly and will do their job in the event of an emergency, officials say.
