Flower Ladies is One of 30+ Clubs at Applewood
We think retirement should encompass all those things you've not had time to do--until now.

“Flowers simply enliven your day,” said Jean Toppel, one of the founders of the Flower Ladies Club at Applewood, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Freehold. “The residents here really enjoy them."
Every Wednesday, the Applewood Flower Ladies rise bright and early to meet the fresh delivery of colorful Alstroemerias.

Jean, co-founder Beverly Strauss, and volunteers Joan Schwaninger, Barbara Wood, Lois Doran and fill-in Carolyn Duckett then set to work arranging nearly 30 bouquets for the dining room tables.

“Residents are invited to take the bouquets home after dinner on Tuesdays,” explains Jean. “Since Alstroemerias last a long time, people can keep enjoying in their own homes.”
Applewood, a continuing care retirement community located in Freehold Township, offers more than 30 clubs and interest groups for residents to enjoy.
