Freehold Area Schools Closed Friday As Blizzard Cleanup Continues
District officials closed schools in response to the ongoing cleanup from the blizzard.

FREEHOLD, NJ — As cleanup from the blizzard continued well into the night Thursday, area school districts closed schools again for Friday, Jan. 5.
The Freehold Borough, Freehold Township and Freehold Regional High School District schools all are closed Friday, along with St. Rose of Lima School. All activities at the schools are canceled as well.
The National Weather Service reported 14 inches of snow in Freehold on Thursday based on reports from trained spotters. Friday's weather is expected to include extreme wind chills as well.

Authorities are urging those who have to travel in the morning to allow extra time as roads will continue to be hazardous.
