FREEHOLD, NJ - Four Freehold Borough police officers were recently honored for their life saving efforts in reviving a local teen who was found not breathing.
During a May 3 borough council meeting, Sgt. Reiff, Ptl. Ambrosino, Ptl. Segoviano and Ptl Owens were honored for their recent aid to an unresponsive 14-year-old boy during a first aid call. When the police officers arrived, the juvenile had no pulse and was not breathing.
“These officers jumped right in, and because of their life saving efforts, that 14-year-old boy was able to join us at the council meeting last night,” the borough wrote in a statement Tuesday.

Also honored at the meeting were Sgt. Flores, Ptl. Healey, and Ptl. Ruegger, who recently responded to a report of a smoke condition in a house. The officers were successfully able to rescue a resident trapped in the house by pulling him through a first floor window as access to the front door was covered with smoke and flames.
“The resident not only survived, he sustained no injuries,” the borough wrote. “Congratulations to all of our officers who were honored last night.”
