Freehold Learning Center Plants Tree for Arbor Day (Photos & Video)

The Borough Council and Shade Tree Commission honored Arbor Day with a celebration at the Freehold Learning Center.

A new Dogwood stands in front of the Freehold Learning Center thanks to an Arbor Day celebration.

Christine Gregory of the Shade Tree Commission and the Freehold Boro Council organized an Arbor Day celebration with the 21st Century after school program at the on April 27.

The 21st Century is a grant-funded after school program that provides a variety of events and activites to children in the Freehold Borough school district.

The celebrations kicked-off with a performace by the 21st Century band. The Freehold Boro Mayor then read a proclamation declaring April 27 Arbor Day in the boro. After putting on his very own 21st Century t-shirt given to him by Principal Dougherty, the mayor led the students outside to plant a beautiful new Dogwood on the school grounds.
