Freehold Man Accused of Stealing Over $2K From Local Business

Freehold Borough Police charged a resident with burglary, theft and criminal mischief.

A Freehold man was arrested by Freehold Borough Police on March 28 after he allegedly took over $2,000 from a local business. 

Luis Colon-Rosario, 34, of Avenue A, was charged with one count of burglary and one count of theft following the Thursday incident. According to his complaint warrant, Rosario entered a Freehold business and removed $2,166 worth of cash and merchandise from the store. The complaint warrant did not specify what store the alleged incident occurred at. 

Rosario also faces a charge of criminal mischief because he allegedly damaged the front window of the business. The damage was valued between $500 and $2,000.

Rosario has been remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $85,000 bail.
