Freehold Raceway Mall Participates In One Million Meals Challenge

The Freehold mall is partnering with Fulfill NJ and Ray Catena Auto Group to provide one million meals to families across the country.

FREEHOLD, NJ – In partnership with Fulfill NJ and Ray Catena Auto Group, Freehold Raceway Mall is giving residents several opportunities to combat food insecurity in Monmouth County and beyond.

Throughout the month of September – which serves as Hunger Action Month – Freehold locals will be able to contribute food and monetary donations at Freehold Raceway Mall to meet the goal of providing one million meals across the country.

From Sept. 1 through 10, locals can drop off non-perishable food items during mall hours at the Route 9 location. Drop-off bins will be located at Qdoba, Starbucks, LL Bean and Color Me Mine.

On Sept. 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., guests can drive up to the donation drop-off spot at the Valet Drive by LL Bean from 10a.m. to 2 p.m. to participate in the Ray Catena Stuff the Trunk Drive. Volunteers will be collecting food items from vehicles to facilitate the pick-up.

From Sept. 1 to 30, monetary donations to Fulfill NJ, a nonprofit fighting food insecurity in Monmouth and Ocean counties, will be accepted through this link. Every dollar provides three meals to neighbors in need, according to a news release.

Patch has partnered with Feeding America to help raise awareness on behalf of the millions of Americans facing hunger. Feeding America, which supports 200 food banks across the country, estimates that in 2020, more than 54 million Americans will not have enough nutritious food to eat due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
