Freehold Regional Voids 700 Entrance Exams Amid Test Leak: Report

FREEHOLD, NJ - The Freehold Regional High School District recently announced its move to void 700 entrance exams to the district’s prestigious magnet program amid reports of compromised tests, according to school officials.

In a Dec. 8 notice to parents (originally posted to the Asbury Park Press), Superintendent of Schools Charles B. Sampson alerted parents that copies of the entrance exam were provided to some test-takers last Friday, Dec. 4.

According to the superintendent, an unidentified test prep company provided the exam to students under the guise of a practice exam:

“FRHSD was informed that a local test preparation company had provided the actual test that was administered as a study guide/preparatory test to the students who signed up for their private services. In looking into the allegations further, the District received additional information confirming that the exam had been compromised,” Sampson wrote.

Freehold Regional High School District has six school buildings serving eight municipalities. Each high school has at least one magnet program, totaling an enrollment of approximately 1,500 students.
