Freehold Township Resident Graduates FBI National Academy

Sgt. David Finck of the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office was one of 264 law enforcement officers to graduate.

A resident graduated from the FBI National Academy after ten weeks of intensive training.

Sgt. David Finck of the was one of 264 law enforcement officers from the 249th session of the academy located in Quantico, Virginia. The class consisted of men and women from 48 states, the District of Columbia, 28 international countries, three military organizations and five federal civilian organizations.

“I’m grateful to have been chosen to attend such a prominent program and work with fine members of law enforcement from across the globe,”said Sgt. David Finck. “The knowledge I have gained will not only be a benefit to me, but the entire sheriff’s office.”

Sgt. Finck is a twenty five year veteran with the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office and currently supervises the training bureau, in addition to the planning and research bureau of the law enforcement division. He is a certified public manager and has a bachelor’s degree in public administration and a master’s degree in administration from Fairleigh Dickenson University.

“I take great pride in knowing that our agency has graduates from such a prestigious academy known for its academic excellence,” said Sheriff Shaun Golden.  “Through such training, law enforcement standards are raised and public safety is promoted in the most productive manner throughout our communities.”

The FBI National Academy Program consists of 10 weeks of advanced management and fitness training for those chosen to attend the program. Courses include law, behavioral science, understanding terrorism/terrorist mindsets, leadership development, communication and health and fitness.

Former graduates of the FBI National Academy who presently work in the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office include Undersheriff Ted Freeman, Undersheriff Michael Donovan, Undersheriff Robert Dawson, Captain John Cerrato and Lt. George Martin.
