iPlay America Helps Promote Literacy and STEM Education

iPlay America is more than just an indoor family entertainment center. In addition to fun and games, iPlay America wants to help you motivate your child to read more by participating in their Book Club and becoming more involved in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) by signing up for their 3rd Annual Science Fair being held on Sunday, June 9.

iPlay America’s Book Club makes reading fun again by encouraging your children to pick up a book (or five). Any child who reads at least five books by May 5 will receive a free iRide Plus Pass, which grants unlimited access to all the rides in the park. Each time a child finishes reading a grade level appropriate book, he or she needs a teacher or parent to sign off on a form indicating the child has read the book. All completed forms must be submitted to Jennifer Neefus by May 17 at jenniferdn@iplayamerica.com. iRide Plus Passes will be valid for a one-time use from May 20 - June 30.

iPlay America’s Science Fair, presented by Amboy Bank, gives children grade 3 through 12 the chance to showcase their STEM work and compete for over $5,000 in cash and park prizes. On Sunday, June 9 from 12:00 to 5:00 PM, iPlay America will be host to the 3rd Annual Science Fair where your child will have 3 minutes to wow our special guest judges with his or her STEM project. Children can use a previous school project or experiment, or create something brand new! Awards will be given by age group and will be broken down into three categories: grades 3-5, grades 6-8 and grades 9-12. The area school with the most Science Fair participants will win a FREE ride night on Friday, June 14 from 4:00 to 9:00 PM. Registration for the event opens on March 1 and closes May 1. Space is limited so be sure to sign up fast before all the spots are taken!
