Join the LWV for a Day of Action Demanding Fair Legislative Redistricting
Red Bank: On Thursday, April 29, at 7 pm, the League of Women Voters (LWV) of New Jersey and its partners in the Fair Districts New Jersey Coalition invite the public to our People Powered Day of Action to shine a light on the redistricting process and demand fair maps for state and congressional districts. Jessie Burns, President of the League of Voters of New Jersey, states, “New Jersey deserves a Legislative and Congressional redistricting process that is transparent, community-driven and fair. Public engagement is imperative to improving the 2021 process. Join us on April 29th to learn more about redistricting, and to take action to advocate for Fair Districts in New Jersey!”
Panelists will discuss:
- Why redistricting is important and vulnerable to manipulation
- The impacts of the delayed census data on the map-making process
- What you can do to advocate for a better redistricting process
The League of Women Voters was established 100 years ago by helping to pass the 19th amendment gaining Women’s Suffrage. It is a non-partisan, activist, grassroots organization that believes voters should play a critical role in democracy.
