The following obituary was submitted by the family of Raymond A. Bullus:

Raymond A. "Ray" Bullus, of Freehold, passed away on April 15, 2020 at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, following a weeklong battle with Covid-19. As this pandemic claims far too many of our state’s senior citizens, Ray’s family extends their sincere appreciation for the brave EMTs, doctors and nurses fighting on the front line against this dreadful disease.

Born in Bayonne in 1946, Ray graduated Marist High School then attended Monmouth College in West Long Branch where he studied math and computer science. He went on to work as a computer programmer in Lakewood for many years before retiring to Freehold, where he resided for the last two decades.

Ray was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Ann Bullus, formerly of Covered Bridge in Manalapan. He is survived by his children, Timothy, Jamie and Raymond; and his sister, Melanie Branon.

Some of Ray’s joys in life were music, computers, watching his son play Little League baseball, and practicing karate at Art Beins Karate, first with his children when they were youngsters in training, then continuing on himself in the adult program there well into his senior years.
