Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For Monmouth County
Breaking: The thunderstorms are accompanying a front moving east from Pennsylvania.
The National Weather Service has issues a severe thunderstorm watch for Monmouth County through 9 p.m. on Saturday as a cold front approaches from the west.
The watch means there is the potential for showers and thunderstorms, with winds gusting to more than 25 mph, according to the forecast from the Mount Holly office.
Heavy rain is falling in the Philadelphia area as of 5:15 p.m., according to social media reports, and radar from the National Weather Service shows a line of storms stretching from Delaware to New York moving east.
