The Week Ahead: Government Buildings Closed in Observance of MLK Day
A list of events and activities taking place in Freehold this week.

Martin Luther Kind Jr. Day
- All Freehold Borough and Freehold Township government buildings will be closed Monday, Jan 21 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
- All Freehold schools were originally scheduled to have Monday, Jan. 21 off, however, due to previous days off from Hurricane Sandy, all schools will be open for a full day of classes.
Government Meetings
- The Freehold Borough Council will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 22. The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be held in the Freehold Borough Offices.
- The Freehold Township Recreation Commission will meet on Wednesday, Jan. 23. The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be held at Michael J. Tighe Park.
- The Freehold Township Zoning Board of Adjustment has cancelled their Thursday, Jan. 24 meeting.
Freehold Art Society
The Freehold Art Society will hold a meeting and lecture at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters on Jan. 23. It is free and open to the public and refreshments will be served. Professor Eduoardo Mungiello will give a lecture entitled, "Art To Drive For: Incredible Masterpieces Within a Three Hour Drive”.
