WATCH: Freehold Township Boys Soccer Team Makes ESPN SportsCenter Top 10
The winning goal in the Patriots' Shore Conference Tournament game is immortalized with two other enormous sports stories from Saturday.

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, NJ — Every athlete dreams of being a game-winning hero and having their 15 minutes of fame.
For Freehold Township's Jon Finocchiaro, scoring a winning goal turned into 10 seconds of fame (maybe 15) on one of the most coveted stages of them all: ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays of the Day.
On Saturday night, Finocchiaro, a junior, drove home the winning goal in the Patriots' 2-1 victory over Point Pleasant Boro in the opening round of the Shore Conference Tournament in dramatic fashion: a bicycle kick inside the penalty area.

His dramatic finish then made the Top 10 plays on SportsCenter on a night with some of the biggest sports news in weeks: the Chicago Cubs clinching their first trip to the World Series in 108 years, and Penn State's football team upsetting No. 2-ranked Ohio State.
With the Patriots tied with Point Boro 1-1 in the secoind half, the junior was in the right place at the right time. A free kick by Sean O’Donnell sailed deep into the penalty area and the Patriots' Adrian Barajas headed the ball toward Finocchiaro, who buried it, according to a report by the Shore Sports Network. It was just his second goal of the season, according to the report.
