FREEHOLD, NJ - The Freehold Township Planning Board recently approved a beloved national fast-casual chain to move into a former barber shop on West Main Street, according to township documents.

Wingstop, the Dallas-based “wing experts,” is slated to make a new home at Colonial Plaza in Freehold next to neighbors Saladworks, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Rook Coffee and Dusal's Pizza. The 1,370-square-foot store will replace the former Supercuts barber shop at 337 West Main Street, according to planning board documents.

The chicken chain has opened several New Jersey restaurants in recent months. In December, a storefront opened at Neptune City Shopping Center on Route 35, replacing the GameSpot store at 116 3rd Ave. A location on Route 35 in Aberdeen is also in the works.
