Youth Police Academy Offered By Boro Police

Program offered to kids aged 12-16

The Freehold Borough Police Department is scheduled to hold its annual Youth Police Academy Program from July 22-Aug. 2.

The program is offered to kids between the ages of 12 and 16. The deadline to apply is Friday June, 21, 2012.

The YPA is a condensed version of the actual police academy. It is an intense program that includes drill instruction with real drill instructors, daily physical training and inspections, according to a release.

Students will receive instruction and presentations from a variety of different agencies ranging from the FBI and Secret Service to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and New Jersey State Police, according to a release.

Students will also participate in simulated motor vehicle stops, raids, and other real-life scenario training and will have many different types of demonstrations.

The program will end with formal police academy graduation, the release says.
