Aggressive Driving To Blame For Vehicle Crash: Gloucester PD

"We all know it's hot outside, but drivers need to keep their heads cool while operating their vehicles," Gloucester Township police warned.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Gloucester Township Police Department is reminding drivers to let cooler heads prevail when behind the wheel.

The warning comes after officers responded to a vehicle crash around 7 a.m. Wednesday on Somerdale Road in front of the Broadmoor subdivision.

According to the police department, the crash was a result of aggressive driving.

"We all know it's hot outside, but drivers need to keep their heads cool while operating their vehicles," the police department said on its official Facebook page. "Slow down, keep your eyes on the road and not distracted by your phone, and as always STAY SAFE!"

Officers did not say what led up to the crash. Fortunately, the driver and another person involved were not injured, police said.

Aggressive driving is a factor in over half of all fatal motor vehicle crashes, according to a report by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety.

Any unsafe driving behavior, performed deliberately and with ill intention or disregard for safety is considered aggressive driving, the report said.
