GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — In a year worth forgetting, a number of Gloucester Township businesses were anything but forgetful. And for the right reasons.
Chosen by Patch readers, this business in particular played a big role in making 2020 a little more bearable.
While many Patch readers recommended their favorite restaurants, and take-out outdoor dining brought a sense of normalcy to a year that was anything but, Gloucester Township readers also saw value in self-care this year.

Like other New Jersey salons, Techniques was shuttered in March as the first wave of business closures and shelter-in-place orders was enacted in the Garden State.
In the weeks and months that followed, Techniques shared videos and tutorials from its stylists, estheticians and nail artists educating its social media followers on things like hairstyles, makeup tips and skincare. It also continued to sell products online.
The salon reopened in June with new measures in place to protect its staff and clients, including a mask requirement and temperature screenings.
The salon, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in November, is now open six days a week for by-appointment services like haircuts, styling, blowouts, coloring, makeup, massage, skincare treatments and more.
Patch readers nominated a Local Businesses of the Year. The local businesses included retail stores, restaurants, hardware shops, dry cleaners, plumbers, car mechanics, salons and more.Nominated businesses will be featured throughout December.
