Camden Man Charged with Assaulting Police Officer
The incident occurred following a traffic stop on the Black Horse Pike on Thursday.

The Gloucester Township Police Department announced Friday that a wanted Camden man was arrested Thursday for allegedly assaulting a police officer during a traffic stop on the Black Horse Pike, near Lower Landing Road.
Christopher Davis, 25, of Liberty Street, Camden, was charged with third-degree aggravated assault on police and third-degree resisting arrest, as well as hindering apprehension by providing false self-information and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Lt. Mike Harkins.
Davis, who was wanted on an active warrant, allegedly refused to provide police with his name during the traffic stop, then pushed officers, triggering a brief struggle, when they attempted to take him into custody.

Ptl. Thomas Wynne pulled over a car police say was operated by Vernon Brown, 49, of Arbor Meadow Drive, Sicklerville, after the officer observed neither Brown nor Davis were wearing seat belts, among other motor-vehicle violations, as the car cruised through Lakeview Apartments.
Wynne sustained a "minor abrasion" during the responding officers' struggle with Davis, according to Harkins, and was cleared to return to duty.
