Code Blue For Camden County As Temperatures Plummet
Camden County will be under a Code Blue Emergency each of the next two nights as temperatures plummet into the 30s.
CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ — Camden County will be under a Code Blue Emergency each of the next two nights as temperatures plummet into the 30s.
The Code Blue will be in effect from 7 p.m. Wednesday night through 7 a.m. Thursday morning, and from 7 p.m. Thursday night through 7 a.m. Friday morning, county officials said on Wednesday.
“This is the fifth and sixth consecutive night of dangerous cold conditions, with temperatures once again expected to fall to 32 degrees and below over the next two nights,” Freeholder Carmen Rodriguez, liaison to the Camden County Department of Health and Human Services, said. “When temperatures reach this low, it is important to check on elderly relatives and neighbors, and to ensure that they are warm and safe. Even inside, cold conditions can quickly become dangerous for vulnerable populations, especially those who lack heat or electricity.”
