GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — There will be public hearings and final votes on a pair of alternative energy proposals in Gloucester Township Monday night.
Gloucester Township Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday night in the municipal building, 1261 Chews Landing Road.
The first proposal concerns adding plug-in electric vehicle charging stations to its land development ordinance. It provides the general public with "adequate, convenient and safe locations" for charging stations.

It will also consider adding a section concerning solar energy to its land development ordinance. It provides the opportunity for solar energy to be installed at homes, businesses and other public places throughout the township to "protect the public health, safety and welfare," preserve environmentally sensitive land and open spaces and preserve the character of the environment.
Both proposals were introduced at the May 10 council meeting. Read more here: Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Considered For Gloucester Twp.
