FOP Golf Outing to Raise Money for Scholarships

A portion of the proceeds from the tournament at Valleybrook Country Club will provide college scholarships for local high-school students.

Gloucester Township Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 206's fourth annual golf tournament will have a dual purpose this year: raising money for an officer-assistance program, and for college scholarships for local students.

This year's tournament will be held May 30 at Valleybrook Country Club, 200 Golfview Drive, Blackwood. Registration begins at 11 a.m., with a shotgun start at noon.

Registration is $100 per golfer, with options to sponsor holes during the tournament. The price includes green fees, golf cart, beverages and a barbecue dinner.

The union also seeks donations of gift certificates for door prizes.

All proceeds from previous golf outings went toward the union's "No Officer Left Behind" program, which provides assistance to active and retired union members in need. This year, part of the proceeds from the tournament will be used to provide three $500 scholarships to local high-school seniors attending a four-year college.

For a copy of the registration form or more information, email FOP Lodge 206 at gloucestertwpfop@gtpolice.com. More information is also available on the union's website.
