Former Gloucester Township Mayor, Assemblywoman Sandi Love Dies
Sandra L. Love "Sandi," former Mayor of Gloucester Township, passed away on Feb. 13th at the age of 72.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Sandra L. Love, aka "Sandi," passed away on Feb. 13th at the age of 72. A former Gloucester Township Mayor and former Assemblywoman, she was the beloved wife of Al Love.
“As the family of Sandi Love mourns the loss of their beloved wife, mother and grandmother, South Jersey mourns the passing of an outstanding mayor and assemblywoman," Rep. Donald Norcross (D-1) said in a statement. “Sandi will be remembered for her warm personality, sharp mind and passion for helping others, especially the people of Gloucester Township. She will be missed by all those who knew her, and I extend my heartfelt condolences to her husband Al, sons Jeffrey and Jason, and grandchildren, Cordelia, Sophia, Ian and August.”
Love, a Democrat, served three terms as mayor from 1994 through 2006 before being elected to the New Jersey State Assembly, where she served one, two-year term.

She ran for mayor after the death of her sister-in-law Ann Mullen, who served as Gloucester Township Mayor from 1979 through 1994, according to the Courier Post. As mayor, Love helped develop the township's ministerium, and she oversaw the creation of the Gloucester Township Human Relations Committee and Economic Development Advisory Committee. She was born in Michigan.
