Gloucester Township 5K & 1-Miler Set For Saturday
The Gloucester Township Scholarship Committee's 5K and 1-Miler returns after a one-year hiatus this weekend.
GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Gloucester Township Scholarship Committee's 5K and 1-Miler returns after a one-year hiatus this weekend.
The event takes place on June 12, and will be timed for the 24th time by Lin-Mark Sports. Proceeds from the event fund college scholarships for high school students who live in Gloucester Township.
The One-Mile Walk/Run will begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by the 5K Run/Walk at 9 a.m. Check-in for both is at 8 a.m. The first 100 registered participants are guaranteed a race shirt.

There will be road closures and delays beginning at about 8 a.m. on the following roads, according to Gloucester Township police:

- Chews Landing Road (run starting and finishing at the Municipal Building);
- Craig Drive;
- Hobart Drive;
- Kelly Drivers Lane;
- Hider Lane;
- Mauer Avenue; and
- Ellis Avenue.
Drivers should use caution in these areas, or attempt to avoid them, until about 9:30 a.m. as runners/walkers will be using the closed streets for this event.
