Gloucester Township Police Hosting Drug Take-Back Day Saturday

The goal is to help local residents rid their medicine cabinets of unused and easily abused opioid painkillers.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Gloucester Township police will host a National Prescription Drug Take-Back event on Saturday, the police department announced.

The goal is to help local residents rid their medicine cabinets of unused and easily abused opioid painkillers, in addition to any other unneeded prescription pills.

Gloucester Township residents who have old prescriptions or over-the-counter medications are encouraged to drop the items into the collection box located in the lobby of the police station, 1261 Chews Landing Road.

Medications may be disposed either in the original container or directly into the collection box. Residents who dispose of their drugs in the original container should remove prescription labels to protect personal identifying information.

Liquid products, such as cough medicine, should be disposed of in the original container with the cap tightly sealed.
