Gloucester Township Police Recognized For Missing Kids Readiness
Gloucester Township and Pine Hill police were the first in the country to join the NCMEC's national program, and have been re-certified.
GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Gloucester Township and Pine Hill police departments have been re-certified in the Missing Kids Readiness Program by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) in Alexandria Virginia, the police departments announced Monday morning.
They were the first two police departments to become participating members of the program back in 2014.
The Gloucester Township Police Department Dispatch Center and Telecommunicators have also been re-certified by the NCMEC.

“Armed with the information, knowledge and operational resources gained through meeting the program criteria, the Gloucester Township Police Department and Pine Hill Police Department both continue to position themselves to respond more quickly, comprehensively, and effectively when a child’s life may be at stake,” the police departments said in a joint statement. “By demonstrating remarkable leadership, and making this commitment of training and preparedness, the Pine Hill Police Department and the Gloucester Township Police Department are continuing to communicate to their citizens and families that protecting the lives and the safety of their children is a top priority.”
NCMEC worked with both police departments to ensure their missing child policies met the critical elements of NCMEC’s Law Enforcement Model Policy and Procedures for Reports of Missing and Abducted Children, according to the departments.

The police departments’ command staffs attended in-person training, while all officers, patrol officers, detectives, sergeants, lieutenants, and staff completed the online training required for their membership.
