Local resident Jason Love has a new book coming out titled "Slices of Americana: A road trip through American Baseball History."
Author Jason Love's new book Slices of Americana: A road trip through American baseball history is being published by Sunbury Press later this month. The author works for Rutgers University-Camden and grew up in Gloucester Township. He still lives in the township and gives lectures on baseball history at local libraries, 55+ communities, and for the Rutgers University Osher Lifelong Learning Center (OLLI-RU).
In Slices of Americana, Jason Love tells the stories of baseball road trips to the Hall of Fame (NY), the Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum (MD), former home of legendary Negro League player Judy Johnson (DE), and more. The book also includes stories and anecdotes on Jim Bunning’s perfect game, Mo’ne Davis, FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading, Pennsylvania, the Tidewater Summer League, Shoeless Joe Jackson, and his favorite player Steve Jeltz. Photos from these road trips to historic baseball sites can also be found on the author's website.
