Nor'Easter Impacts In Gloucester Twp.: Closures, Vaccine Schedule
While Gloucester Township was set to resume services Monday, county offices were prepared to remain closed.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — After further consideration, Gloucester Township has decided to remain closed on Tuesday as a winter storm continued to blast the region.
The township's municipal building was closed on Monday. It was initially supposed to reopen on Tuesday, but township officials announced on Monday night that the municipal building would stay closed.
The Department of Public Works will operate as usual, and officials are asking residents to keep their cars off the streets, so they can plow. Residents can call 856-228-3144 to speak to an operator.

Trash and recycling that was supposed to be picked up on Monday will be picked up on Tuesday. Officials said Tuesday’s regularly scheduled collection will take place as scheduled, but Central Jersey Waste and Recycling Company and the Gloucester Township Municipal Utilities Authority (GTMUA) will need time to collect two days worth of garbage in one day.
Emergency services will operate as usual. Classes in Gloucester Township’s two school districts were virtual on Monday. Camden County offices and agencies were closed on Monday, and were set to remain closed on Tuesday due to inclement weather. The closures will affect the Camden County Technical Schools, Camden County College, the Camden County Library System, and additional county agencies.
“We are continuing to see significant snowfall across the region, and current forecasts suggest we will continue to receive several inches of accumulation this evening and into the early morning,” Camden County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli Jr. said. “In the interest of public safety and the safety of county personnel, the listed agencies and offices will be closed on Tuesday, Feb. 2.”

A Code Blue is in effect through 10 a.m. Thursday. When the Camden County Health Officer declares a Code Blue, municipalities with homeless populations, situational homeless or transient populations are expected to activate their Code Blue response plan to accommodate their immediate needs.
The Camden County Health Department and the Office of Emergency Management have worked with each municipality to ensure they have the proper resources to respond to these severe weather situations as part of their individual Code Blue plans. Each municipality has identified its own location to accommodate those in their community seeking shelter from the severe weather.
