Gloucester Township Reveals Flag Drop-Off Boxes

T​he flag drop-of boxes are meant to serve as safe, secure retirement​ of worn flags for the Gloucester Township community.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Gloucester Township is offering an easy way for residents to properly dispose of their worn, tattered flags.

The township recently placed several flag disposal boxes at three convenient locations:

  • Camden County College
  • Veteran’s Park
  • Community Park by Veterans’ Memorial

According to Mayor David R. Mayer, the flag drop-of boxes are meant to serve as safe, secure retirement of worn flags for the Gloucester Township community and are a convenient way of disposing while respecting our national symbol.

Flags should be folded respectfully before being placed in the box.

The Department of Public Works will be responsible for the proper disposal of the worn flags in accordance with the United States flag code.
