Gloucester Twp. Cops Collect 148 Pounds Of Drugs On Takeback Day

Gloucester Township police collected 148 pounds of old, unwanted prescription drugs during the National Prescription Drug Take-Back event.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Gloucester Township police collected 148 pounds of old, unwanted prescription drugs during the National Prescription Drug Take-Back event on Saturday, the police department announced.

The goal of the event is to help local residents rid their medicine cabinets of unused and easily abused opioid painkillers, in addition to any other unneeded prescription pills.

“Great work and thank you to all who participated in the DEA National Take Back Day this past Saturday,” Gloucester Township police said in a statement. “If you missed this event- not to worry! Residents may drop off your unwanted/ expired prescription drugs from medicine cabinets, kitchen drawers, and nightstands anytime to the Gloucester Township Police Project Medicine Drop Box, located at our Watch Desk, at 1261 Chews Landing Road. Reminder: we do not accept liquids or syringes.”
