NJ COVID Vaccine Mega-Sites Will End
New Jersey will close its six COVID-19 vaccination mega-sites very soon and will refocus vaccination efforts locally. Here's the plan.

NEW JERSEY — By the end of July, New Jersey's COVID-19 vaccination effort will be a completely local affair. The state will close its six COVID-19 vaccination mega-sites over the course of the next month, Gov. Phil Murphy announced on Wednesday.
"We're going on the offense, and we're bringing the vaccine to the people," Murphy said during Wednesday's COVID-19 news conference, the state's 200th since the pandemic began more than a year ago. "We're localizing our efforts. Every New Jerseyan who wants to be vaccinated will be. That's our promise. That's our goal."
There have been 1,967,235 total doses administered at the state's six mega-sites since they opened earlier this year, and 954,204 New Jersey residents have been fully vaccinated at these sites, Murphy said.

Murphy announced when each site will administer the first round of initial doses, and when they will administer their final doses. Those dates can be seen below. Read more here: Gloucester County COVID-19 Vaccine Mega-Site To Relocate June 1

For the moment, New Jersey residents can continue to find mega-sites at the following locations:
- Atlantic County: Atlantic City Convention Center, Atlantic City
- Bergen County: Racetrack at Meadowlands, 1 Racetrack Drive East Rutherford
- Burlington County: Moorestown Mall, 400 & 401 NJ-38 Moorestown
- Gloucester County: Rowan College of South Jersey, 1400 Tanyard Road Sewell
- Middlesex County: NJ Convention & Expo Center, Edison
- Morris County: Rockaway Townsquare Mall 301 Mount Hope Avenue Rockaway
The mega-sites served residents from all over the state and were run by health providers locally. They began opening in January, but will close as the vaccination efforts become more local, officials said.
Murphy also announced on Wednesday that employers will have to honor earned sick leave for any worker who needs to take time off from work to get vaccinated.
