Police Warn of "Swatting" Trend
The high-tech prank calls have been dubbed "swatting" because they often result in responses from SWAT teams.

Gloucester Township Police want residents to be aware of so-called swatting crimes that have affected communities across the United States.
"Swatting" is essentially high-tech prank-calling.
"Swatters" hack video-game consoles, like Xbox, and use the systems' Internet connections to send messages to 911 call centers, sometimes resulting in a SWAT response from police.
