Restore GT Slate Files Petitions For Gloucester Twp. Elections

Four more people have entered the growing field of candidates who are running for mayor and council in Gloucester Township in November.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Four more people have entered a growing field of candidates who are running for mayor and council in Gloucester Township this fall.

Sam Sweet confirmed on Tuesday that he will run for mayor of Gloucester Township in the Nov. 2 general elections. He will run on the Restore GT slate, along with Joe Allen, Shaylynn Lattie and Dawn Sabella.

Allen, Lattie and Sabella are all pursuing three open seats on Gloucester Township Council.

The slate filed their petitions to run by the 4 p.m. deadline on Tuesday, which was Primary Day in New Jersey. It wasn’t immediately clear if anyone else filed independent petitions by the deadline.

Sweet is running for mayor against incumbent Democrat David Mayer and Republican challenger Joseph F. Damico III.

Council Members Michelle L. Winters, Dan Hutchison and Carolyn Grace join Mayer on the Democratic ticket.

Natalie L. Rivera, Raymond E. Henry Jr. and Theodore M. Liddell all join Damico on the Republican slate.

The Democrats and Republicans all ran unopposed in Tuesday’s Primary Elections.
