Rowan University Deemed Safe After Bomb Threat
Rowan University was evacuated due to a bomb threat, but has since been deemed safe, the university announced.
GLASSBORO, NJ — Rowan University has been deemed safe after it was evacuated due to a bomb threat earlier Tuesday, the university announced.
"At 1:50 p.m., Rowan University police completed inspection of all buildings and declared all campuses now safe for return to normal operations," the university said via Twitter. "Rowan University thanks the Gloucester County Office of Emergency Management and the Glassboro Police Department for their help in the ongoing investigation."
The university — which has campuses in Glassboro, Camden and Stratford — issued a message to evacuate all campuses after the Glassboro Office of Emergency management received a call at 10:44 a.m. that several bombs had been placed at various undetermined locations on and around the Glassboro campus.

Glassboro police and the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office were called in to help with the investigation.
"In an abundance of caution, the university’s Department of Public Safety, in consultation with the Office of the President, ordered an immediate evacuation of all facilities on its Glassboro, Camden and Stratford campuses," the university said.

Rowan College of South Jersey had sent out a tweet that read, "Out of an abundance of caution, stay away from the Rowan Medicine building located at 1474 Tanyard Road on RCSJ’s Gloucester Campus until further notice."
Most summer classes are being held remotely, but a few students living on campus were told to evacuate, nj.com reports.
