Timber Creek Boys Basketball Team Holds On For Close Win

Timber Creek is off to its best start in program history, according to nj.com.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Timber Creek Regional High School boys basketball team is off to its best start in program history, and kept it going with a two-point win over Shawnee last week.

The Chargers held off a late surge from the Renegades to hold on for a 44-42 win last Thursday, according to nj.com. Timber Creek held a 41-36 lead with five minutes, 15 seconds left in the game, and was able to hold off a 7-3 run from Shawnee to improve to 12-1. Demetrius Paynter and Austin Greene each had eight points in the win.

The site recently focused on upperclassmen in New Jersey high school basketball who are flying under the radar, and credited senior guard Justin Bladen as a pivotal key in Timber Creek’s strong start. As of Jan. 15, he was averaging 17.4 points per game, three rebounds and two steals per game.

Since then, he had two points in the win over Shawnee and 15 points in a 75-63 win over Cherry Hill Easton Jan. 16, according to nj.com.

Timber Creek is back in action on Thursday at home against Woodrow Wilson, 5:30 p.m.
