Upcoming Events In Camden County This 4th Of July Weekend

CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ — Here's a list of upcoming events in Camden County, courtesy of our friends at Visit South Jersey, the official Destination Marketing Organization for Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Salem counties, and the Outer Coast Plain Wine Region in South Jersey.

The Perkins Center for the Arts in Collingswood is hosting the Persephone Rising Exhibition now through July 16 at 30 Irvin Avenue in Collingswood. From darkness and uncertainty springs light and life through creativity. Like Persephone emerging from Hades toward spring; we rise from the challenges of this time, revealing here the very harvest of our hope renewed. Artists in this exhibit include Terri Amig, Penny Beck, Peg Belcastro, Grayce DeNoia Bochak, Kimberly Camp, Jacqueline Boyd, Chloe Pinero, Jacqueline Sandro Greenwell, Molly Sanger Carpenter, Margot Taylor, and Annelies Van Dommelen. Poets include Ashley O’Neal and Jim Culleny. Hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The virtual exhibit can be viewed here. The Philharmonic kicks off July 4th weekend with its Patriotic Concert at the Voorhees Town Center, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. July 1. The free outdoor concert features the music of John Philip Sousa, John Williams, a salute to our veterans, and more. Storm Large is the special guest vocalist. Don't forget that Pirates are Landing at Adventure Aquarium in Camden from June 18 through July 9, various times. They are seeking treasure for a limited-time, fun and interactive family experience. The crew will teach you to walk and talk like a pirate as you play games, make crafts, hunt for Darkbeard's treasure and learn about parrots. You may even walk the plank.
