Watch 'Avengers: Endgame' In Your Car At Camden County College
Gloucester Township's third annual Drive-In Movie Night will take place on Saturday, Sept. 28.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The magic of the drive-in movie theater returns to Gloucester Township next weekend. Residents of a certain age likely have no idea what a drive-in movie is, although there is one in South Jersey.
Drive-in movies are when a family, group of friends or whoever is going to see the movie, parks in a parking lot and watches a movie on a giant projector screen. The sound initially came from speakers inside the screen, but evolved to the point where a signal was sent out that can be picked up by car radio.
The first drive-in theaters emerged prior to World War II, and hit their peak in the 1940s, 50s and 60s. Their decline began in the 1970s, and they virtually disappeared in the 1980s before going through a type of revival in the 1990s and early 21st century.
