$1.4 Million Road Improvement Project In Haddon Begins Monday

The project on Avondale Avenue includes restoration of the roadway, as well as curb work and driveway apron replacement

HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ - A $1.4 million road improvement project in Haddon Township begins Monday, May 13, Camden County officials announced on Wednesday. Significant improvements will be made along a stretch of Avondale Avenue (CR 646) between Hopkins Road and Woodland Avenue.

Work will include the restoration of the roadway, storm drainage improvements and a complete replacement of most curbs and driveway aprons. The project is expected to last about 75 days, weather dependent.

“Improving county roads, bridges, and infrastructure is one of the most effective ways to improve the safety and well-being of Camden County residents,” Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works, said. “Avondale Avenue operates much more like a residential road than a thoroughfare for the county, so our engineers worked extremely closely with the township to ensure that this project was completed with local concerns front and center.”
