200-Pound Ballerina Statue Installed In Downtown Haddonfield
The statue now greets visitors to the borough.
HADDONFIELD, NJ - A 200-pound bronze ballerina now welcomes visitors to Haddonfield. The sculpture by Barry Woods Johnston was put in place in Downtown Haddonfield earlier this week.
The six-foot wide, six-foot tall, 20-inch deep ballerina is in place at the “Welcome to Haddonfield” circle at intersection of Haddon Avenue and Ellis Street, across the street from the Acme.
Johnston brought the sculpture, which is among the artist’s many works which capture energized form and anatomy in motion with robust, gravity-defying sculptures, up from Baltimore.

Johnston is loaning the statue to the borough through the Haddonfield Outdoor Sculpture Trust (HOST) for two years, according to NJ Pen. Other works in HOST’s local collection include pieces by Seward Johnson, Joshua Koffman, and Ken Ross.
