Camden County will be under a Code Blue Weather Alert each night this week as mild temperatures were expected to give way to frigid cold.
CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ — Camden County will be under a Code Blue Weather Alert each night this week as mild temperatures were expected to give way to frigid cold.
The alert will be in effect from 7 p.m. Monday night through noon on Tuesday; 7 p.m. Tuesday until 8 a.m. Wednesday; 7 p.m. Wednesday until 7 a.m. Thursday; 7 p.m. Thursday until 7 a.m. Friday; and from 7 p.m. Friday until noon Saturday.
“Today’s mild temperatures will be replaced by wind and frigid air with the arrival of a cold front that will impact our weather for the remainder of the week,” Commissioner Carmen Rodriguez, liaison to the Camden County Department of Health and Human Services, said on Monday when he made the announcement. “When temperatures reach this low, it is important to check on elderly relatives and neighbors, and to ensure that they are warm and safe. Even inside, cold conditions can quickly become dangerous for vulnerable populations, especially those who lack heat or electricity.”
