Haddon Baseball, Softball Pitchers Toss Opening Day No-Hitters

The pitchers for both the baseball and softball team tossed no-hitters on Opening Day, according to nj.com.

HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ - Pitchers for both the baseball and softball teams at Haddon Township High School threw no-hitters on Opening Day.

Brody Decastro struck out nine batters in five innings of work to lead the Haddon Township High School baseball team to a 13-0 win over Woodbury, according to nj.com. He hit one batter.

He also had a big day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with an RBI, a double and a run in the win. Nick Squazzo was 2-for-2 with a walk. He had a double and three RBI, as Haddon Township put up 10 of its 13 runs in the top of the first inning. Squazzo stole two bases.

Avery Mankevich struck out eight batters in six innings of work in the Haddon Township High School softball team’s 12-1 win over Pennsauken Tech, according to nj.com. She walked seven batters. At the plate, she had two RBI. Natalie Squazzo had an RBI double. She also walked three times and scored a pair of runs.

The following day, Haddon Township dropped a 6-2 decision to Woodbury, according to nj.com. Mankevich struck out 10 batters in the loss.
