Haddon Township Man In Joker Makeup Waved Knife At Teens: Police

After a week of making disturbing appearances around town, a Haddon man was arrested after waving a knife at a group of teens, police said.

HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A Haddon Township man was recently arrested after waving a knife in front of a group of teenagers while wearing Joker makeup, according to authorities.

Haddon Township police were called to the 400 block of West Crystal Lake Avenue on July 23 for a report of a man wearing joker makeup with a knife. The teens told police the man drove by very slowly while menacingly waving a pocketknife in front of his face.

Police later stopped the man, identified as 25-year-old Assoumou Diby, and arrested. Throughout the week, police said they had been receiving reports of a man in joker makeup walking around the area. Police said that while Diby’s conduct in those previous complaints were disturbing to area residents, his conduct did not rise to the level criminal activity.
