Haddonfield Annual Crafts & Fine Art Festival This Weekend

Elbow room will be at a premium this weekend in downtown Haddonfield as the 20th Annual Crafts and Fine Art Festival descends.

Kings Highway, the busy main artery through the center of town, will be transformed into a festive corridor alive with artists’ tents, outdoor cafés, musicians and more. The nationally ranked festival is not only one of the area’s largest family-friendly event, it also draws family-run craft businesses from across the country.

The two-day, outdoor festival—July 14-15 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.—garners national attention and attracts crowds of more than 100,000 people.

This is the signature event of the Partnership for Haddonfield, the tax-funded business improvement district. The event organizer, Renaissance Craftables, pays the PfH $32,000 to run the festival. Hundreds of merchants then rent space on Kings Highway from Washington Avenue to Tanner Street.

Artisans will exhibit a wide range of arts and crafts, including ceramics, glass, jewelry, wood, fiber, metal, paper, drawings, paintings, photography and wearable art.

From families of crafters to the long-time event organizers, the 20th Annual Haddonfield Crafts and Fine Art Festival continues to be a family affair.

Among the more than 250 professional artists and crafters are husband-and-wife teams, mother-and-daughter pairs and full family-run arts businesses drawing from long histories of creativity. Additionally, the festival itself is family-run by Renaissance Craftables, an East Coast craft-show production and promotion company.

For more than 25 years, Philadelphia resident Barbara Boroff has owned and operated Renaissance Craftables with her three daughters. While her daughter Marcy Boroff took over leadership in 2008, Barbara continues to advise and attend shows. They enjoy meeting and supporting artists and working with downtown areas and nonprofits.
