Haddonfield To Face Shawnee In Diamond Classic Baseball Final
Haddonfield will face Shawnee in the final of South Jersey's unofficial baseball championship tournament on Wednesday.
After a pair of big wins on Saturday, the Haddonfield Memorial High School baseball team will play for the unofficial championship of South Jersey Wednesday night.
The eighth-seeded Bulldawgs upset No. 1 Cherry Hill West, 7-0, and No. 5 Eastern, 8-5, in the 46th annual Joe Hartmann Diamond Classic at Deptford on Saturday, nj.com reports.
Chris Mariani’s RBI single in the top of the seventh broke a 5-5 tie in the Bulldawgs’ win over reigning champion Eastern, according to the report.

Haddonfield will face No. 6 Shawnee for the title on Wednesday night, May 15, 6:30 p.m. at Eastern. Haddonfield will be seeking its Diamond Classic title since 1985, and second overall.
Against Cherry Hill West, Dylan Heine pitched a complete game, fanning 10 batters and allowing three hits. Mariani was 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI in the win. Nick Sylvester, Tyler Kubrak and Frank Ebling had the hits for Cherry Hill West.

Shawnee reached the final with a 3-1 win over No. 2 Bishop Eustace in the semifinals. In the quarterfinals, the Renegades upset No. 3 St. Augustine, 4-3. Bishop Eustace downed No. 7 Triton, 10-0, in the quarterfinals. To view the full bracket, visit nj.com.
