Haddonfield Football Team Rallies For Win Over West Deptford
Haddonfield hosted West Deptford in the opening game of an unusual football season Friday night.
HADDONFIELD, NJ — In a season in which football was an uncertainty, the Haddonfield Memorial High School football team rallied for a 17-16 win over West Deptford in an unusual season-opener.
It was an unusual season-opener because it came on the first Friday of October instead of September due to the coronavirus pandemic. It’s also the reason Haddonfield held its senior night during the first game of the season, according to nj.com; there’s no certainty of any more games.
If it was going to be their only game, the Bulldawgs made it an exciting one. Quarterback Carson Wolff threw the game-winning touchdown, a 40-yard pass to Tommy Batson, in the fourth quarter, according to the Courier Post. West Deptford had built a 16-10 lead late thanks in part to a 35-yard touchdown run by quarterback Aaron Graeber.
